Blogshop Weekend is an interactive blogging workshop.

January 2011 Blogshop at the Santa Fe Complex

• You like to learn in a small classroom atmosphere

• You know how to use your laptop, but are new to blogging

• You do not currently have a blog or website, but are ready to start blogging

In Blogshop Weekend, you will have a self-hosted blog set up and ready to go by the weekend! Here’s exactly what we will cover:

Saturday from 10am to 1pm:

• Introduction to Blogging, Market and Keywords

• Freewriting exercise to focus on your ideal customer

• Deciding on a domain name for your blog

• Purchasing a hosting package and domain name from Hostgator

• Installing WordPress

The first half of Saturday is learning about blogging; the second half is technical. We split the workshop into 2 days to make sure everyone’s blog has a chance to propagate.

Sunday from 1pm to 4pm:

• Commenting on blogs

• Learning the basics of WordPress: Posts, Pages, Links, Header, Widgets, Plugins and Media Library

**PLEASE NOTE: Blogshop Weekend is NOT a beginning computer class; make sure you know how to:

1. Surf the Web,

2. Cut and paste URLs,

3. Open multiple tabs in your browser, and,

4. Connect remotely to a network.
